Darkness, damp nature, gnarled old trees.
I’m no witch, but looking into this leafy pool, I fall under its spell. Then down onto the woody undergrowth with me. And the power of the place, the magic!
The more I travel with no agenda, the more the lens captures what I’m feeling and living through.
Freedom, unfailing resistance, and the beauty of our witching,

Love your one clear blue eye – and you have a wonderful eye for capturing beauty. Gorgeous watery, leafy reflections, and I do love old wooden boats. Wondrous, and happy international Women’s Day!
Catherine Drea says
Thank you so much! And for entering into the witchy spirit of things. Yes to wooden boats!

So good to look through these photos while I sit in my cubicle and let myself be drawn into the beauty you captured. Lately I’ve been taking in information on the part that nature plays in herbal medicine, witchcraft, and folklore. Instead of listening to my usual political podcasts during my long drives, I’ve been listening to people talking about plant spirit medicine, energy work, earth sister gatherings and so on. Perhaps the harshness of external people reality is sending me running to find magic hidden under fallen leaves and emerging buds, and to connecting with good old Mother Nature. She contains more wisdom in her little toe than in the sum of our government collective. Perhaps that’s why they’re trying to kill her. I so appreciate people like you who keep sending reminders of why we need to value what she has to offer.

So good to hear Maery Rose! I have always gone back to Women who run with the Wolves for example. Searching for that same connection. Sometimes nature is all sweetness and light. Then other times her darker nature soothes in much the same way. Funny that. Thank you for getting it!!! x

Beautiful images…and I couldn’t agree more with what Maery Rose said!!!
Catherine Drea says
Thank you Robin! Yes darker nature soothes, perhaps even more at this age….
