In the bleak midwinter
Frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like a stone;
Snow had fallen,
Snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter,
Long ago.

I hope you have a wonderful cosy mid winter celebration.
Love Catherine

Philip and Kim Ashton
Thank you so much Philip and Kim. It’s a pure joy to share these photos and connect with you across the mysterious sky/internet! I hope you have a lovely Christmas and a bright 2020.
Happy Solstice and a very Merry Christmas my dear Catherine!
And to you Donna. Best wishes for all your new adventures and a very bright and Happy Christmas x
You find beauty in the bleak! Happy Winter Solstice!!
Thank you and thanks for sharing your thoughtful images throughout the year. Like my little Robin friend, you are a warm and friendly soul wherever I come across you on this weird and wonderful super highway. Much love and Happy Solstice x
I love the winter photos you posted. I believe that’s your side of the world’s robin? Ours are not quite as beautiful but still welcome as they arrive as a sign of spring. Happy solstice!
Thanks Maery Rose. Yes the Robin who here is associated with Christmas and winter. It’s a tiny little thing but plucky in the extreme. Will fight off any intruders! Great connecting with your search for wisdom this year. Inspiring.
What a wonderful frosted picture with beautiful contrasting colors! Although this may be a common bird in your area, I am not familiar with it. Can you share its name? I love the orange coloration! Hope you find someplace cozy and warm to enjoy the holiday season…with 2020 being even brighter!
Hi Harvey, I think you have a different robin, but this is ours, very much associated with winter and Christmas. So friendly to humans and tends to get closer than most other wild birds. Have a wonderful holiday season, yes it’s cosy and warm inside if a little dark and grim out there!!! You stay cosy too Harvey!
