As a fully paid up and proud member of the working class, I get to enjoy a certain number of leave days every year. This week I have had 5 of them. Next week I will have 5 more……
At this early stage I’m not sure who I will be or what I will do when it’s over……but there’s nothing surer than I will return with a head full of notions. Plans and schemes for how to get fit, ideas for new photographic projects or art that I will create. How I am going to change my life, leave my job and probably even move house. I will have set out new areas of the wild garden, begun a painting renovation job or two, and decided that we will have to extend the house.
The end of the holidays will eventually creep up on me…….and lo and behold I will simply go back to work. It’s not guaranteed that the notions will turn in to projects, but that never matters, it’s the process of day dreaming that has been restored by summertime, space and a clean sheet……
Hope you get a few summer days at the seaside too……and a little more time to dream……

I completely get where you are coming from on this one. Having time to think and plan is all part of a holiday. Having the determination to make some of those plans a reality is so often sadly lacking in me which makes the anticlimax of returning to work all the worse. Maybe this year will be different……… Philippa xx

O Philippa I know exactly what you mean, when that day comes you just have to get on with things and it's hard to hold onto the dreams……

Hello Catherine
Enjoy every minute of your 10 day escape. You know the saying "if you dream it; it will happen", so be careful what you dream about!!!

I don't so much plan and dream when on holidays but wish that life could always be like that. Doing just the things I want, spending more time with my family, nurturing my inner homemaker. Those weeks are the weeks when I feel I am really living.

I need to take more days as an actual vacation but my job always interferes and I rarely get a weeks vacation. It is a day here or there and will remain so this summer due to work again. I hope to find a few days here and there in fall too. Enjoy the beach for me too!

And there was me thinking I was the only one with my head full of grand schemes! Lovely to see such a sunny photo on such a rainy day 🙂
