And just when it seemed like the relentless greyness would never return to light, under the dark compost, luscious rhubarb was being reborn. It distracted me from the gloom…….

This really makes me regret that we dug up the rhubarb patch when we put the lawn in (please note I'm using the royal we – I don't dig). But I always buy rhubarb in the spring as it brings back childhood memories.
Mairéad when it's time to eat the rhubarb it really will be spring! I don't dig either if it can be avoided!

It is so encouraging when you see things starting back into life to begin the circle of the year once more – I have just been to check on my rhubarb and there is a small red nobble just poking through (I still have rhubarb in the freezer from last year – better get using it before I become inundated with this year's supply).
